14th Annual Ferrets Anonymous Round Up - By a narrow margin of four votes, Claudia T. held onto her position as Ferrets Anonymous President. This was the first time that the Presidency had been contested in the history of FA. In a move by those at the Round Up, Lance M., the founder of OCF was nominated and subsequently elected to a position on the FA Board.March 29, 2007:
Field Poll Results - The Field Poll results to determine whether a ballot initiative should be filed came back with only a 38% positive result. This isn't a positive enough result to risk proceding with the ballot initiative. This was the hopeful "hot ticket" to legalization that many had hoped for, and many in the ferret enthusiast community banded against. For now, there is no effort currently active in the state of California to attempt legalization of the domestic ferret.March 25, 2007:
Legalize Ferrets Video - The creation of a public service announcement to help others understand ferret legalization has been created. The video has gathered approximately 2,000 views in less than a week on You Tube and Google Video already. Thanks to FA Member Mike D. for his hard work in creating the video. Click the OCF logo at the top of this page to load the home page and click "Play Me".February 1, 2007:
Legislative Outreach - OCF contacted nearly 200 California Legislative members to find a new sponsor for the 2007 Ferret Bill. Download letter hereJanuary 1, 2007:
Legalize Ferrets Rally - Van Nuys, CA -Ferret enthusiasts adamant about legalization staged a rally in Van Nuys, CA. Banners were held up for motorists about ferrets not being legal in the state of California. Actor Ed Gale came out to be our spokesperson and help us to get the word out about "Doing It For the Little Guy" since he himself is a little person. A little person who has appeared in many feature films, commercials and hit television series over the years. Also, A human-sized ferret costume on loan from the San Antonio Ferret Club was used as well as other actors posing as Dept. of Fish & Game officers, and an Arnold Schwarzenegger imposter who held a money bag marked with the words "Special Interest". "Arnold" strutted around taking fake money from the demonstrators at the event. The event was covered by KNX News Radio as well as KABC Channel 7 News. This is the first step in plans to make 2007 - The Year of the Ferret! - For photos of this very visual event, please check out the New Year's Day Ferret Rally PhotosSeptember 23, 2006:
Legalize Ferrets Revival - San Francisco area -About 75 people attended the Legalize Ferrets Revival Saturday in Brisbane. While the event wasn't without a certain level of tension over what to do next regarding ferret legalization, it was still a good first step in any direction since the death of AB 647. It is a shared opinion though, that if ferret lovers don't change their strategies, and learn to unite -that we'll all be hiding out like criminals for years to come! Revival News Here!Read the Mercury News and Chronicle News articles on the event.

Sadly, as of August 23, 2006 AB 647 is officially dead. At this time, it is unknown to us why Koretz and his people didn't move to take care of the bill that was in their care to bring before the Assembly. More on this as it is made available to us. More than ever, its time to JOIN THE 3,000 CLUB!July - 2006:
