OCF/LF Visit Ferrets Unlimited!

During the weekend of the 21st of July, OCF and Loving Ferrets Online Community joined forces to visit Ferrets Unlimited Ferret Shelter in Cleveland, Ohio to help with their Spring Scrub. We will have photos of the trip on the OCF site soon! If you would like to donate to F.U.F.S. you may do so by sending your donation via PayPal to donations@ocferrets.org.

Ever held a real live beautiful mink before? -This handsome fellow is named "Trouble". He's a mink who thinks he's a ferret!

Shelter Photos:

These ferrets were sick and being nursed back to health. The Sable in the second photo had only been at the shelter for 24 hours and was emaciated. He could barely walk when we arrived, yet by the time we left, he was getting around on his own thanks to Jean who kept him fed and hydrated with soup and sub-cutaneous fluids.

For as little help as they get on a regular basis, FUFS works tirelessly to keep the shelter in good shape. Its amazing that anyone has this much of a good heart. The folks at F.U.F.S. never stop taking care of the ferrets that need them.

FUFS Scrub Down commencing!

It's safer for shelter kids to be in carriers with so much going on, so one cage at a time - the shelter kids were moved into carriers while their little apartments were scurrbed spic & span.

You use what you have, and since there was so much to clean, there's nothing like a bath tub to make sure everything is spotless. This tub has seen so much work going on in and around it over the years, its amazing that it still holds water!

Jean thought she could hide from the camera by ducking behind a Ferret Nation habitat. Really, we can't see you Jean!!

Apparently, they'll let just about anyone scoop poo and scrub cages if they really, really want to!

Ferrets Unlimited's current shelter kids. Sadly, there are many and the numbers never seem to diminish. Why would anyone buy a pet from a store when there are so many kids that need forever homes?

Shhh!! Adrenal baby having a nap. He'll get his surgery soon. Jean makes sure that the ferrets in the shelter have what they need, no matter how hard it is to make sure it happens. -Can you help?

Another adrenal shelter baby waiting for his turn at the vet so he can have a beautiful coat and to feel helthy again. We at OCF have a soft place in our hearts for adrenal kids...

The woman wearing this shirt has a heart of gold and house full of adoptable ferrets! Her shirt is an understatement INDEED!

This is "Old Blue" - the very tired Chevy Lumina van that F.U.F.S. has been using since the dawn of time. She needs a lot of work, but Jean still loves this old van.

All good things must come to and end, but that doesn't mean that its the end of the friendship between OCF, Loving Ferrets and Ferrets Unlimited. This is a photo out the window on the way back home. We'll see you again soon Jean. We miss you already!
