OCFERRETS Meeting 10/14/06

The second OCFerrets meeting had to be held indoors because the first rain storm of the season soaked Heritage Park in Irvine (our regular meeting location). Even though the day ended up sunny we held the meeting in a very nice club house with a fireplace.

This indoor meeting gave us a quieter forum to sit down and get to know many of the newcomers to OCF. We were able to share plenty of information on ferret safety, ferret care, and a whole lot more. In all, there were 18 people present at the second meeting, with lots of fresh new faces!

We started the meeting with a few words from our founders who expressed the reason why OCFerrets exists. Additionally, all visitors to the meeting were encouraged to join Ferrets Anonymous, by subscribing to the official FA newsletter. Next, we went around the table and each attendee introduced themselves and the ferrets that own their hearts (even though no ferrets were on hand, which is what we always request for the safety of all present.) Soon, those in attendance who were new to OCF began to loosen up and we enjoyed their company and questions posed to the staff of OCFerrets. There were several games, including a round of F.E.R.R.E.T. Bingo where winners won lots of door prizes of a ferrety nature.

We enjoyed meeting those who are new to Orange County Ferrets, as well as those who we've come to rely on as regulars. If this was your first meeting, we hope it won't be your last!

We thoroughly enjoyed seeing Deeanna and Jack who are always early for any OCF get together! We love you guys!

As always, we had a bunch of OCFerrets Hammocks on hand, and several were sold at the meeting. Recently, we worked long hours to produce a bumper crop of hammocks, and have extra large ones in super soft fleece for sale for the winter months. We'll be updating the Fundraising section of the website soon to show off the new styles as well as some other new items we'll have available as well.

Keep your eyes peeled for the next Orange County Ferrets meeting in December! They're turning out to be a great time, every time!
